The Clinical Education program facilitates:
- Opportunities for health professions students from the University of Maryland system and other health professions programs to complete rotations in underserved areas of Baltimore City and Baltimore County and to learn about the unique challenges, rewards and opportunities of practicing in an urban community setting.
- Exposing students to patient-centered practices that underscore the dedication of healthcare professionals and increase the students’ cultural sensitivity to underserved populations.
- Engaging students to consider practice in underserved urban areas.
- BAHEC helps support the Primary Care Track at University of Maryland Medical School by helping to match students with experiences with Baltimore primary care physicians.
